Aahung is made up of a dynamic team of professionals from diverse backgrounds. It is managed by an Organization Management Team, comprising the Program Director, Program Manager and Finance & Administration Manager. Aahung is divided into four components: Clinical Component; Life Skills Education; Outreach; and Research, Law and Policy. We are also supported and governed by our Board of Governors; our General Body, and our volunteers, and receive financial support from various donor agencies.
Program Staff
Rahal
Saeed, Director. Rahal has several years’
experience in program management, gender, empowerment and reproductive health.
She has worked for CEDPA (Centre for Population and Development Activities) in
Washington, DC, where she was seconded to the Catalyst Consortium, a global reproductive health project. She has an
MA in International Training and Education with a focus on developing and
implementing participatory training programs, non formal education, gender and
international development.

Fatima Haider, Program Manager, has a background in biology and environmental studies. At Aahung since May 2003, Fatima began her career working on a health education project with the Aga Khan Institute for Educational Development. Fatima's
work at Aahung involves human resource management and ensuring adherence to set targets and plans.
She is also involved in networking and liaising with partners and donor agencies while supporting initiatives for the financial sustainability of the organistaion.

Clinical Component:
This Component aims to sensitise healthcare providers and develop and strengthen their capacity in order to enhance the quality of their services.
Dr. Sikander Sohani,
Advisor, Health Services, has an extensive background in sexual health issues and has been the resident clinical service provider at Aahung since 1994.
Dr Sikander conducts research and provides training and counseling on various
sexual health issues such as sexual dysfunction, and STIs, HIV/AIDS, ect. He has
compiled a widely used training manual, ‘Prescribing Sexual Health’, and also works as an internist at an Aga
Khan Hospital Diagnostic Center.

Dr. Monica D'Souza, Health Coordinator, is a vital member of the
Clinical Component at Aahung. Monica is involved in the coordination, facilitation and documentation of Aahung's health practitioner trainings.

Asheen Premjee, Advocacy Coordinator, completed her Bachelors
degree in Psychology from McGill University in May 2005. Arsheen’s work
experience prior to joining Aahung included an internship at the Aga Khan
University's Institute for Educational Development in 2004. She is currently
involved in material development, training design and documentation and
planning for Aahung’s Clinical Component.

Life Skills Education (LSE):
LSE aims to provide information and instill positive health seeking behaviour amongst adolescents (both boys and girls) and their caregivers.
Sheena Hadi, Life Skills Education Manager, has a background in Biology. At Aahung since November 2003, Sheena joined the team after teaching primary and secondary school children health and science for two years. Sheena coordinates health and life skills education programmes
for implementation in local schools in Pakistan.

Outreach:
The Outreach Component aims to bring about change in attitude and practice amongst the staff and stakeholders of non-governmental and community based organizations so that sexual health concerns may be integrated into their community programmes.
The Outreach team, led by our senior trainers Nazo Pirzada and Shehneel Gill, consists of experienced field workers who have been working in the field of sexual health since the inception of Aahung.
Their work involves raising awareness at the community level and partnering with grassroots organisations
to work towards institutionalisa-tion of sexual health educational services. They have extensive experience in community mobilization and participatory facilitation methodology, including the use of theatre for advocacy and awareness raising.

Research, Law & Policy RLP):
This Component focuses on increasing awareness on laws and policies that impact sexual rights and advocating for change at institutional and policy levels. Its goals are to collect and compile information on sexual rights; and networking and developing strategic linkages with human rights organisations policy makers and legal personnel.

Marium Ahmad, Research, Law and Policy Manager, has a background in Political Science and Economics. Prior to joining Aahung in June 2004, Marium worked as a market research analyst in Canada.
She has a keen interest in research and documentation and is involved in developing awareness raising, training and advocacy materials for Aahung's various programmes.

Aneeta Pasha, Research, Law and Policy Coordinator,
has an educational background in International Development
Studies and Anthropology. Prior to joining Aahung, she worked on a
research study at the Aga Khan University Hospital's Paediatrics Department and
with CARE in Bangladesh. Aneeta’s role as Research, Law and Policy
Coordinator at Aahung involves assisting in designing and conducting research
studies, developing resource materials and supporting Aahung’s training and
advocacy efforts.

Finance/Administration Staff

Hussain Hassan, Finance and Administration Manager, has been at Aahung since January 2000.
He has a background in Finance and is also ACMA qualified. Hussain is responsible for developing
and ensuring the smooth running of Aahung's financial and accounting system.
He has also played a vital role in the development of Aahung's HR policies and procedures. Hussain's
other responsibilities include financial work planning and cost-recovery initiatives, budgeting, resource allocation and financial reporting to donors. Along with his team, He
handles day-to-day administrative issues and works closely with the Program Manager and Director to ensure adherence to policies, procedures and professionalism within the organisation.

Sohail Dossa, IT
and Administration Coordinator, has a background in Information Technology
and Commerce, with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Diplomas in Information
Technology & The Microsoft Certified Professional. Prior to joining Aahung since April 2001, he taught computer skills to secondary level students. Sohail
manages all of Aahung's IT-related works including troubleshooting and technical
support for the entire staff, and
is also responsible for purchasing equipment.

Shiraz Meghani, Accounts Coordinator,
has a background in marketing and commerce, and has been with Aahung since 1999. His responsibilities include providing administrative and financial management support to the
Finance Manager; handling the payroll and audit banking mechanisms; developing budget variance reports; and ensuring compliance to tax and legal requirements.

Muhammad Faiz Alam, Information
and Administration Officer, has a
background in Commerce studies. He joined Aahung in 2005 and is responsible for
logistical arrangements for all Aahung's program activities. He is
also in charge of Aahung's contact database,
library, and inventories of publications and materials, and provides technical
and administrative support to Aahung programme staff.
