Aahung is a Karachi-based NGO that has been working to improve the sexual health of men, women and adolescents since 1995. We believe that all human beings have the right to sexual health and other human rights, as enshrined by the United Nations and ratified by all of its member states.
Through our interventions and activities, we aim to raise awareness and self-esteem, to improve health-seeking behavior and to promote healthy relationships based on equality and respect.
Our Objectives
Aahung aims to:
- Strengthen the provision of clinical sexual and reproductive health services
- Integrate life skills education in schools
- Incorporate sexual health into national medical curricula
- Promote a rights-based approach to reproductive health, including HIV/AIDS policies and programmes

History
Aahung has its roots in the Karachi Reproductive Health Project (KRHP) and the AIDS Awareness Program (AAP), both of which sought to raise awareness and improve sexual health services specifically within and for select low income communities.
Aahung has since broadened the scope of its activities. Currently, our team works on awareness raising, capacity building, research and advocacy and resource development, all of which are geared towards improving sexual health standards in Pakistan.
