Aahung celebrated World Aids Day by making an appearance on a talk show on Geo. Dr.Sikander Sohani was invited on the Nadya Khan Show along with Mr. X and his wife. Mr.X accidentally contracted HIV when he was given a contaminated blood transfusion. This was the first time a person with HIV appeared publicly on televison. The programme was telecast live and Dr.Sohani explained many of the myths related to the infection. The show received excellent reviews and has been aired more than five times to date.
MediLine Show
Dr.Sikander and Shehneel Gill appeared on a show on Vibe TV. The show was hosted by Dr.Khurram and focused on Hepatitis in Pakistan. Both Aahung team members spoke about the causes and prevention of the disease on a very open front.
HUM TV
On 22nd July, 2009, two members of the Aahung team were invited to appear on the ‘Morning Show with HUM’ with host Hina Baloch. Dr. Sikander Sohani and Fatima Haider attended the show, and spoke about Aahung, its mission and vision, and the scope of its work. A number of callers called in with their questions, and they were addressed by the team.
FM 91
To mark the International Day against Violence against Children, Aisha Ijaz and Mariam Sheikh appeared on a talk show on FM 91. The two hosts of the ‘Munch on Lunch Show’ were Benysh and Ali and the discussion took many interesting turns as audiences were messaging interesting questions. Both Aisha and Mariam spoke about Child abuse covering all topics ranging from awareness to prevention.
